I missed something too and can't find it. Hope you're well Flake.

Srbo best wishes to you as well! I can't seem to keep up on here these past several days. Work is taking over my life.

if-so-Grrl Good to see you! I know chronic pain can bring on depression, so you're fighting quite a battle. Peace and healing vibes to you! Be well!

I

I'd be happy to help you with that!

I just switched to my computer and a real keyboard - that "Smart" (dumb) phone is so hard to type on! :m_phone: (no - mine does not look like this one )

:biglove:What I hadn't counted on was that it's taking 4 hours to transcribe 1 hour of dictation. And I've got 16 hours of interviews. It's so time consuming, but very spiritually enlightening. I'm loving listening to it.

I make really good chili (he said immodestly), but in my many decades of life, I've never tried green chili a/k/a chili verde. I started to wonder why.

My smattering of cookbooks didn't have it. I went online. I didn't like their recipes.

So I got home a bit early today and started doing things up. Most of the recipes I saw called for pork, but I wanted shredded chicken. So I cooked that up and used some specialty spices, local blends, from a downtown spice store. I cut up a bunch of chili peppers we got from a farmers market setting that I (incorrectly) thought were not that hot and sauteed them up with more spices. After a thought, added some bell peppers. Couldn't find onion, and kicked myself all over the kitchen for neglecting that.

Put it all together with chicken stock, water, more spices, and a whole jalapeno to get the taste without the heat. Let it go for a while on the heat, added some milk, some canned spiced tomatoes, and flour for consistency.

Result: With one exception, pretty good. That exception was that Grandma accused me a number of times during the meal of trying to kill her. It turned out to be pretty hot, spice-wise. I melted cheese on hers, brought her sour cream, fixed up some quesadilla wedges to go with it, and we poured milk.

I know what to do next time. Cut back on the chili peppers, increase the bell peppers, and use more meat. That was the other thing - it wasn't quite meaty enough. But it sure was tasty. She kept telling me so in between the accusations of attempted murder.

Privately, I'm a little worried about what her complaints might be in the morning.

I wish my husband knew that cooking for me would please me infinitely. I tell my girls to marry a man who cooks. I try to teach my son to cook. It would mean so much to me if someone in this house would take 1 night of the cooking chore away from me. Bravo to you! It's still not chili weather here yet. Waiting impatiently.

I don't what it is with me lately. I seem to be attracting weirdos everytime i show myself lately. Sunday the outrageously angry store lady and today, even worse, a man that stood in the elevator in my house. His eyes nailed at my crotch and suddenly he blurped out i must feel. I said i think not. And then he said it again and started to move his hand in that direction. I backed away and was rather relieved when he went off at the next floor. Not what you expect when you on your wayy to your apartment. I am beginning to be afraid to go out! And they say things always happens in threes. I can not imagine what the third is!

There were some weird things in college like that for me. Hasn't really happened since. Just something I look back on.... "Well, that was weird." Unhelpfully enough to you, it was a group of four for me. (Psychology professor, stranger in the men's room, stranger on the street, and randy older lady - well, older than me.) Y'know, you just have to say, "Thanks, no," shrug, and move on.

I must feel! I've got to say, that's a pretty wild pick up line. I don't know how I'd respond. Though, I think most of us girls have had men say some really funny things to us a time or two. Just this Sunday I was getting in my car at Kroger and a man said to me " Please tell me you aren't married". I'm not all that, but I'll take it at my age. I should add that I was showing way too much cleavage for a Sunday morning. I'm sure he was just talking to my boobs.

I never get headaches, and I really never get sick. And today, of all days, when I need to spend the entire day with headphones on and people talking in my ears while I type it up, my head feels like it's about the explode. This can't happen today. I've taken 2 advil cold & sinus, 2 regular advil, had 3 cups of coffee, several glasses of water. I've eaten, I've had my vitamins. What else? How do you get rid of a headache fast? I'm going to lie down with a cold rag on my head for a bit, but I can't have this happen today. I'm just going to have to get through it. It must be awful to suffer migraines.

Sorry, Holly. Did you try rubbing your ears?
Seriously - rubbing the bottoms lightly with just my fingertips or putting my whole hand over both of them and kind rubbing them into my head? I'll try both and let you know. Every time I think it's passed and I sit back up - there it is again. I'm about to take a Lortab, but then nothing will get done.

Oh sweetie, feel better! Make sure you give the meds you've already taken a chance to work before you take more!

Oh yes, I'm serious. I know it doesn't happen much, but I try.........;)

Ear rubbing is a great way to relieve stress so it may in fact help you feel better. Different folks feel results rubbing different parts of the ear. I work the lobes usually. I look like dumbo now, but it feels pretty good.

Hope it works for you......:)
