Eugene watching Abraham and Rosita--:barf:

Abraham and Rosita being okay with Eugene watching--:barf::barf:

My reaction to Eugene confession--:lee: (I'd shave his head.)

Eugene finally killing walkers with the fire hose and a strong blast of liquid--I tend to be Freudian..xD

Abraham's hand--is he infected and going to turn--(Eugene seems to be very interested in Abe's hand) or is he going to lose the hand?

So, Daryl and Carol did go after Beth's kidnappers!!!

Oh! Did anyone catch the spoilers Eugene spilled on the Talking Dead?!!

Peace.

I read a tweet from SK a week or so ago, along the lines of 'why aren't the walkers falling apart? Aren't they biodegradable?' (He definitely used 'biodegradable'. I remember it distinctly. :smile2:)
From the way that hose was knocking limbs and heads off, it looks like they may actually be. As it is, maybe they're only really held together by dirt. Written-in solution right there, for when cancellation looms.

I think the zombie destruction was supposed to be from water pressure (Never mind that the pumper shouldn't have worked, as the engine wasn't running *eyeroll*).

As to the continuing existence of the zombies, Jonathan Maberry handled it nicely in his books (which reference WD a few times, including references to Sheriff Rick as a 'Hero of the First Night' and Quick-Draw Carl as a zombie hunter 15 years after the ZA occurred :D): they just stop decomposing at a certain point and no one knows how or why. Not especially deep, but at least he acknowledges what's happening. I thoroughly enjoyed his zombooks, both the YA and adult books.

What I found really nice about this episode is the use of humor. There were several tossed off lines that made me smile or snort laughter, and that's been sparse throughout the series. This one had a very nice, deft touch!

Dead men don't bleed. They just sort of... leak.

I don't like how they're going it this season, dedicating whole episodes to just one character. The group dynamic works a lot better. It wasn't as bad with this episode, because it was mostly in the present and the group. But it's getting rather boring and introspective to zoom in on just one person. They didn't do that as heavily in seasons past, did they?
Though I'm not fond of the Bethisodes and got wildly bored by the Governor eps, on the whole I like the character driven episodes. If it's all rush, rush, rush, kill, kill, kill, there's never time to really give a damn about any of the characters. So what if they die? I'm not invested in their living. One person whose backstory I would really like to see is Glenn's. I know he was a college student in Atlanta, a pizza delivery guy...but what else? I have a suspicion that he did something with science--the look he gave Eugene on the bus after the hugger mugger about no cars, etc. to futz with airborne delivery systems was pretty piercing.

I still see inconsistencies with this whole Eugene was a liar all along plot line. Unless Abraham was lying to Glenn and Tara through his teeth he clearly implied they were part of a military convoy that had been in touch with a Washington powerful enough to have working labs and delivery systems to hope to dispense a cure if one was made, that maybe disaster had happened when they lost contact a couple of weeks earlier... You can't be in Washington hoping falsely that a guy on the radio is going to come through for you if you have more than enough equipment on hand to make use of his skills and, oh by the way, look through your computers and verify his identity to the letter, just as a matter of course, whether you're on some level hopefully desperate or not. Did Abraham throw the convoy together himself? How did they get in touch with Washington in the first place? Were they lying with the same motivations as Eugene? Did like recognize like from a distance? Too many questions that don't necessarily jibe with the backstory for Abraham and Eugene that we've been given so far. If all that is explained satisfactorily and all such plot holes closed, then Eugene is the biggest b*****d of the entire series, easily eclipsing the Governor, Shane, the Claimers and anyone else who will come later on. In that case I hope Abraham killed him.

I thought the exact same thing...
I thought his unit was a military convoy as well and their unit was sanctioned through the chain of command. There are a few plot holes in this series, but I give the show a lot of leeway. The main reason I do that is because the series has had several show runners and they've switched story lines several times. It really bugs me at times, but I know that it's because they've had production problems. It looks like they changed direction with the origin of Abraham's convoy.

What if no one but Eugene ever 'talked to Washington'? Pretty easy to claim that you have some sort of secret number (for a sat phone, perhaps?) when Abraham was desperate for ANYTHING to believe in. He definitely could have put together the whole thing--he's a leader, and people want someone/thing to believe in when things go south.

I think he was repeating what Eugene told him.
