I was commenting on the guy who Siggy heard saying "...anyone who says they don't...". "Anyone" is singular while "they" is plural, dammit. I wasn't suggesting Siggy should've posted it somewhere else. Why?
Oh gotcha... I missed that before.I was commenting on the guy who Siggy heard saying "...anyone who says they don't...". "Anyone" is singular while "they" is plural, dammit. I wasn't suggesting Siggy should've posted it somewhere else.
I think anyone is not used as a singular here but what do I know - I don't have a degree in English.I was commenting on the guy who Siggy heard saying "...anyone who says they don't...". Anyone is always singular. The sentence should read either "...Anyone who says he or she doesn't...", or "...Those who say they don't...".I think anyone is not used as a singular here but what do I know - I don't have a degree in English.
If you think it is wrong, then how would you correct it? (I listen to too many doctors who have bad grammar).
