Contact - Carl Sagan (Jodie Foster really good in the movieversion)
I, Claudius - Robert Graves (not a movie but a great TV-series)
In the Name of the Rose - Umberto Eco (Connery real god as a darkages detective and monk)
Invasion of the body snatchers - Jack Finney (at least three movie versions)
Does androids dream of electric sheep? - Philip K. Dick (movie known as Blade runner)
No country for old men - Cormac McCarthy (i especially liked Javier Bardem in the movie)
Winds of War - Herman Wouk (think this was a miniseries, anyway it was good)

Slaughterhouse Five - Kurt Vonnegut
You probably shouldn't see the film if you've not read the book. I don't think you could understand the film without reading the book but if you've read the book, the film is very good. Even Kurt liked it.
I read the book a long time ago (it's a classic for a reason!) - didn't know there was a movie.Slaughterhouse Five - Kurt Vonnegut
