I collect my thoughts (well I try to anyway...)

No you're not....I'm collecting dust.
You can always send them to me......As long as you have a place to keep it without mess and you're not spending money that should go somewhere else (e.g. spending the rent/utility/food money on tchotchkes), go for it I agree with Grandpa, though--make some provision for your collection or be content that most of it will end up in a landfill when you're gone. I have a 46 Y.O brother that regularly violates the first two provisions (and actually thinks his 'collectables' are worth something)--him, I have a problem with.
My weakness is movies and books, and it is hard to think that most will be dumped when I shuffle offstage, but there you go.
...the moral of this story: avoid rabid dolphins.....I'll offer both a supporting and dissenting view.
My mother liked to collect all things Rabbit. My daughter liked to collect all things Dolphin.
When my mother died, I was picking through a metric ton of Rabbits. Some of it I gave away, some of it seemed like it might have value so I kept it (like Hummel stuff, or whatever) without really wanting to, and the rest got wrapped and boxed up for... I dunno. Because Grandma is a tender-hearted person and couldn't bear to take my mom's collection to the landfill.
My daughter saw this and immediately was cured of her Dolphin collecting. She just didn't want to leave her mountain of dolphin paraphernalia for others to deal with. She hasn't collected dolphin stuff since.
Having said that - Do what makes you happy. Life it too short not to. When you leave the mortal coil, those who remain will choose with what to do with your stuff. Let them. Whether they distribute it, keep it close, or throw it out, you're the one who enjoyed it while you had it. Don't deny yourself that.
...a little shot of his own medicine eh?....(I've been doing it too)No you're not....
I'd do that! It would be nice to have the luxury to decide what happens to stuff; then again, it's probably better not to know (lol). You can always send them to me......
OH! That reminds me! Have you seen The Drop (as you're my fellow Tom Hardy-ophile--lol)? I picked it up yesterday for a few bucks, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Locke was TREMENDOUS--he should have been at least nominated for an Oscar. You can always send them to me......
No, you didn't........a little shot of his own medicine eh?....(I've been doing it too)
I have Locke and, yes, he should have at least got an Oscar nom, but I haven't seen The Drop. I did read that he's slated to star in at least three Mad Max movies!OH! That reminds me! Have you seen The Drop (as you're my fellow Tom Hardy-ophile--lol)? I picked it up yesterday for a few bucks, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Locke was TREMENDOUS--he should have been at least nominated for an Oscar.
I hope I never "grow" out of certain joys.
