It made me think of the movie - The Accused w/Jodie Foster. They prosecuted the by-standers.
According to the article, she was passed out drunk, or she thinks she might have been slipped a mickey. So at least she didn't suffer the humiliation or agony while she was awake. She just gets to live with seeing clips of it from people's cell phones. This is too heartbreaking - I can't click the link, but the desperation that girl must have felt and the fact the no one helped makes me nauseous. Is this generation so desensitized? What's happening to the world?
I'd LOVE it if they could prosecute the bystanders. The people that were prosecuted in "The Accused" were charged with inciting a crime by encouraging it, clapping and chanting for those men to rape her. I wonder if it's a crime to stand by and do nothing. If it's not, it should be.It made me think of the movie - The Accused w/Jodie Foster. They prosecuted the by-standers.
Some did. Article says police have received video from people's cell phones. If even ONE saw, they could have started yelling and kicked up a fuss.I would need more info. People might not even have realized what was happening.
People watch stuff like this online?! I am so naive... I really have no clue. The young folks have become so used to watching stuff like this online, they think everything is a video on Youtube.
