I wasn't sure I was ready to start on something new after devoting all my reading time since May on the 5 Game of Thrones books. You know how sometimes, especially after reading a series you've invested so much time into, you're not quite ready to shift gears and leave those characters? I've had the 2 books Steve told me I should read at the top of my TBR pile and started with The Poison Artist by Jonathan Moore on Monday and finished last night (only 273 pages). He was right--really good and kept me wanting to read more. It's a murder mystery with a side story. Even though you sort of know from the beginning where it's going, it wasn't completely what I expected but looking at it with hindsight probably should have. Not sure if that's much of an endorsement but I'd give it a :encouragement:.

Jeez guys, I have added 3 books to my wishlist already this morning! Where is that winning lottery ticket again? ;-D Darn back to school and groceries and bills anyway. ;;D

I did not take my hardback Rose Madder with me camping. Dirt and bugspray and sunscreen and camp smoke and SK hardcovers....uh-uh. I read Labor Day by Joyce Maynard while we were gone. It was good, flowed right along and was an easy read.

Now I can get back to Rose Madder, well, maybe next week when the kids are back in school and I have a minute to breathe. ;)

Boyoboy, first recommended by our gracious Host and then our beautiful Ms. Mod, this title goes to the top of my list.
