Skógafoss is a waterfall situated on the Skógá River in the south of Iceland at the cliffs of the former coastline and is one of the biggest waterfalls in the c...ountry with a width of 25 m (82 feet) and a drop of 60 m (200 ft). According to legend, the first Viking settler in the area buried a treasure in a cave behind the waterfall. PC: Dominic Kamp.
Oh my goodness, I don't think I have ever been so excited as I am tonight in learning that this photo was selected for the cover of the Rays Weather Calendar! ...Many, many thanks to all you sweet folks who voted for me and shared my request for votes. When they dug up fill for the Toyota plant gray dirt from the Cretaceous was exposed. There lay early sand dollars, crinoids, mollusks, and crabs which no longer exist. A field day for my grand kids. All of the southern US was under water at one point.
