80sFan, What's a food or food combination you eat that most people would think weird?
If no weirdness, then what was your favourite food as a kid?

I like my fries dipped in (more like swimming in) bacon ranch dressing. I like to dip potato chips in my ice cream. Is that weird enough? :D
My favorite food as a kid was sliced steak in a bowl with yellow mustard. I get grossed out just thinking about it now.

(PS: I didn't get an alert that I was tagged, just was randomly reading posts and saw my name!)

I don't think this space could hold all the changes, Morgan!

I think the main change is that we have gone from teaching for the students' best interests to teaching them to do well on state testing. I really despise testing. Of course, teachers still have their students' learning in mind, but always, in the back of your mind, you know you're trying to get them ready for the BIG TEST.

The children get so nervous. They cry and their little tummies hurt. We offer "Good Faith Effort" which are rewards for trying on the test--bubbling in every answer, leaving no blanks, not distracting, etc. It really breaks my heart to see how some try so hard, and just cannot do it...not everyone is cut out for school/testing. It's so unfair. I'm sure I could get better at free-throws if I practiced, but I would never do great--that's the way I feel about some of these kids. They are worried about mom and boyfriend fighting, or getting breakfast, and then we expect them to test well.

These children are more than a test score, but we all stress out trying to make sure everyone's 'proficient.'

Students have changed in that they are like the rest of the world--dependent on their precious phones and social media for entertainment. Also, many seem to be 'in charge' at home, where 29 years ago, when I started, this was rarely the case. Of course, they seemed more innocent when I first started too. I really sound like an old lady, eh? I think that, since they have access to the Internet, they've seen a whole lot more than kids did long ago!

I didn't know you're a teacher. After reading this, I like you even more :) Your students are lucky to have you. Much respect!

DiO'Bolic... (I don't know how to tag people :'( )
What is your favorite place to eat in the Poconos?
In the actual Poconos, it’s Smugglers Cove Seafood and Steak in Tannersville, PA. But my absolute favorite in the nearby area is just below the southern Pocono line… Beck's Land & Sea House in Nazareth, PA. I think it’s also Mario Andretti’s favorite as I’ve seen him dining there with his wife numerous times over the years. Since you live in the southern Polcono region, try A Ca Mia Italian Restaurant on Route 248 in Cherryville, PA, if you enjoy Italian food. But bring your own booze as its BYOB.

Wow. Once again left out!
Although it was fun seeing everyone's questions and answers.
Don't ask me a question now though because I had to come begging to be included ;;D
I'd have asked earlier about what your favorite horror figure is you currently own, but your screen name if just too damn long to have to type out. :)
