I know what you mean - I did watch the first season and I did enjoy it, but now that I have done a re-read I'm thinking - ooops - now I have messed up the second season for myself. I am still only half way through Under the Dome and I am reading it slowly so I can savour it. Season two doesn't come out until next summer so maybe by then I'll be okay to watch it.
Don't worry, read the book to the end because the series very barely even resembles the book. I mean, the town name is right, it is under a dome, some of the character names are right, some of their jobs are right, but so far, that's about it.
I mean, seriously, I'm expecting some characters from the twilight series to show up....because this tv series is doing to King's story what that movies series did to vampires.....
Yes, before you all dump on me, I realize the series and movies will be different. But how much different? They basically only took the premise from the book and threw out the great story line. This SO reminds me of lawnmower man.....
Anyone remember this little movie called, what was it? CARRIE? Now THAT was an awesome movie made from an awesome book. How about TRUCKS? Another awesome movie adaption of an awesome book. How about 'Salems Lot? I could go on but the movie adaptions of King's books that are good, are few and far between.
I hope, no, I PRAY that they don't adapt 11/29/63 because if they do? They'll probably have the main character not only travelling back in time, but based on a space station on the moon and he won't be going back to save Kennedy, but probably back to save Robbie the Robot from Lost in Space.......
BTW: I didn't realize it until the 10th episode, they are making a comedy! Now it all makes sense! haha
