Thanks, I just visited their site. I entered the drawing but not sure if it accepted. Usually these types of drawings say 'thanks for your submission' or something similar. It looks really cool.
I thought that the book looked like it would be a really nice edition too. I'm somewhat of a King 'completist' for his books anyway, so I had to order a copy. There's only going to be 2,500 made, no more, no second edition, so they'll probably go fast. I don't remember but I don't think when I entered the contest that it said anything like 'Thanks for entering.' etc.

I was thinking... Wouldn’t it be fun to get made up a life-size cardboard cutout of Stephen King and take him on vacation. My youngest daughter did something like this with a character she created. She created books and did the illustrations of 'The Adventures of Millie And Friends.’ She did this from the time she learned to write and it went on for about 4 years. We still have all the books she made (over a foot tall they stack up to). She once created a 1 foot Millie cutout drawing and sent it with her cousin while she traveled Europe. Then her cousin posted pics on the internet. My daughter saw Millie at Big Ben, Millie at the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Millie at the Eiffel Tower, etc.

Then I’d post pictures daily in SKMB under a thread ‘On Vacation With Steve.’ When people on vacation ask why we have the cutout, I'd say I invited King on vacation with us, but his assistant kindly said he had other commitments and had to send regrets, but we didn’t want him to miss out.

Take pictures of the cardboard cutout with the various people while on vacation. With pretty girls in bikinis at the pool... Us sitting down and fishing at the beach... Singing karaoke... Pics of him and the waitresses at dinner... Drinks (Shirley Temples) at the Tiki bar... etc.

I wouldn’t actually do this, but the thought of doing seems like a hoot. Happy Friday the 13th. :)

...I made my plane/car reservations for the Kon yesterday and had to go head to head with credit card voice mail to ensure I was who I said I was and that the purchase was authorized...PIA but at least I know somethings paying attention....
