Heard from someone today. He found out that some of his employees who were in the camps volunteered their rooms to families that evacuated and slept in their trucks.
That is true. There is a reason I consider Ft. McMurray my home instead of Newfoundland. There is nowhere in the world like it. It is not the norm. We have people from every country in the world living and working together in a small city in the middle of nowhere. You have a city that is known so well for giving to others. I love Edmonton, too, but I use to almost get panic attacks when I left the Fort for any amount of time. That is just the way it is up there. Most folks are the same. Women, especially, seem to love the Fort.

I am amazed by the cats. They have spent days in Ft. Mac scared to death and smelling the smoke. They were out of food at the end, I guess. They were in the evacuation shelter three days before we were called to get them....the SPCA had so many to care for. I figured they would make strange once they got here to the house. Not so, they were so happy that they haven't stopped playing. They became instant friends with the cat here. Now they are all running around and playing king of the mountain with each other. Climbing on shelves...jumping on beds. WOW. I think once they settle down that they will have a long sleep. I doubt they have done that much.
Here is Prime Minister Trudeau who visited the Fort today.

This is a read for everyone of you. This is Rex Murphy from my hometown of Newfoundland. He is telling about what the brotherhood of man means in a Canadiana way. He will tell you the moving story of goodwill to others when it comes to others. THis is way I adopted ALberta and my true home. There are none like these wonderful folks. Please listen...........

I do not mean to be rude but did Obama send us good wishes during this very trying time?

I can't find anything googling, but I'm sure I had read or heard something on the news during the first few days.

He did offer help, and that didn't make the news until after people were commenting that he didn't offer help. Since "Obama sends thoughts and prayers to Canada" isn't really click bait, I think it just doesn't get blasted at us.
