UGH!

Just got some of the stuff I needed from my presentation partner. To be fair, the content wasn't bad but the presentation needed some polishing. Just finished that up and sent it back to him.

This would have been so much easier if I had just done the whole thing myself. I hate, hate, hate group projects in school! I'll be soo glad when this class is done.
Group projects are moronic. Best of luck in getting this one finished!

Working from home this morning.
My division at work is having a team outing this afternoon. We are going bowling. Have to leave from there a bit early to get to school tonight.
Final exam and final presentation at school this evening. Hoping to be done by 8 or 8:30 pm or so.
Work on Thursday and Friday.
First weekend in awhile where I won't have any homework! The only "must do" things this weekend are to take Brody Dog to the vet for some shots on Saturday morning and then a guitar lesson at noon. Other than that I'm a free-range SwiftDog!
Wow! Brody is learning guitar?? That's one talented dog!!! :biggrin2:

i feel you dear, i hate group projects because some of the lazy classmates of mine will only depend on a Grade conscious type like me. and i love working alone. (i'm going to make an exception to my four close friends because i can trust them and we got a high grade on one of the group projects when we four just teamed up to finish it)

Today I looked at an awning window, 11-59, top left corner. Customer thought it was an Andersen. Hardware is shot, window won't operate correctly. But no Andersen Nope, no logo etched in the bottom right corner. Did stop at McGann's to price awning hardware...$220! Heh! Casement is about, or was...$50. Called Jim, gave him the happy news. He has decided to investigate other options...like eBay, or other window contractors who might have used lying about. A month ago I hauled several buckets, full, of awning hardware to the transfer station where I threw the metal in the metal bin. Should have checked the current price...and to top that all off, small job in Dollar Bay, painting the fish scale on a gable end, install 3 pairs of shutters (decorative) and replace a worn crank on a casement with a used, tried the other side, but that needs new hardware...and there I go again...regretting twice in one day throwing out several buckets full of used, some of it good, hardware. Live and learn. Had that stuff for years and nobody needed...or they want it for .25-cents. Will you take a quarter for this? Oh, you betcha, is it shiny and new? Pennsylvania by any chance? I collect.

And...measured the same job (fish scales, shutters) for two new sets of steps on the back, picked up some 2x6 and made some top rail--I cut a mitre on one side down the length, router all the edges, and this provides a "grippable" surface...handy in the land of ice and snow. Remembered one estimate I'd forgotten the day before, wrote that up, emailed it out. Did some other paperwork. Went out Big Traverse and measured a window for a previous window customer, Ray...his wife has Lou Gehrig's disease...a shock. Sad. His grandson was there, a few years older...at two he carried a screw-driver and liked to take things apart. Probably a future politician, hey? That's my guess. Then, we went over to his (Ray's) son's place, just up the shoreline...measured a window there. Guy got a steal on this place, $70-grand, lake-front on the big lake, nice place...crappy windows.

Watered the garden and I got away with it already, ice cream you scream I scream we all scream....for a variety of reasons. I think I took a ride out Point Mills after finishing up in the Bay...picked up some brass, add to the collection. Gas money, come fall, when I turn it in, .65-cents a pound I think it is. People leave it lying about. Need to call a man who wants me to do his roof...picked up three roof jobs this week...and I am trying to shy away from roofing. Getting older. Blow your party whistle. Tomorrow. Onward, ever onward.

Walt - I'd like to download your brain. Please. Matrix -style. Just plug my head into a dental chair with your flashdrive and learn all the things. And the bravery to do them. Would save me $$$$ bigbig.

Today I just did what I do. 10,000 different things. I complain about long days, but I have to say I love my job. It's busy sometimes, most times. I'm never caught up. I can never just do what is on my to do list. Anything can happen, anytime. I get to help people in their most joyful moments and the worst moments of their lives. I meet the most amazing and inspirational people. How'd I get so lucky? Someone remind me of this the next time I'm whining. I really have no reason to whine. I had the best 13 hour day ever.
