Now, I have to admit, I have not slept well. I feel like Sally Struthers whenever anyone likes what I post! I'm thinking that I could stand a good old fashioned conversation. It's a great day! Danny has open house tonight, Steffan posted a song that made me tear up (in a good way). Just have to say that I'm tired. Good morning and have a peaceful day!

Oh Gan! Open House- otherwise known as Meet the Teacher here. My son's is tonight. I'm glad you mentioned that. I don't want to go, but I must. He's got vision issues and I make it a point to meet all of his teachers and tell them things about this. He's on an IEP but I'm sure it's hard for them to get around to reading all of those in high school.

Sam - I like to stack my books everywhere. 3 are under the phone on the cabinet in the kitchen. I stack them under the living room end tables. They make nice decor and when you walk into my house, you KNOW a reader lives here.

I didn't sleep well either. I had such a great day yesterday I couldn't settle down. I'll pay for that later today.

Y'all have a good day! Must go do my morning stretches and go to work.

Hope you get some rest soon. I'm attributing the lack of sleep to your confusing Sally Struthers with Sally Field of "you like me, you really, really like me" infamy. :smile2:

I can help you moderate those IEP meetings as a parent if you ever need. Mom was the school psych, I was a teacher and I am a parent. I know how schools function and I know the laws. I will elaborate at a more articulate time.

It's better to be active and slighty hungry all the time. Today, for instance, I learnt something. I didn't have two cigarettes before breakfast. I didn't have a cigarette until 4pm( maybe that's the reason I wanted to have a drink:courage:)But I got off the bus at Broadmeadow and had something to eat and I don't cause no trouble.

Thanks - we've had fantastic results. Part of his IEP is for HIM to communicate with the teachers about what he can't see, if he needs more time on a test. As he gets older, he's 15 now, he needs to be his own advocate. And for the most part, he does a good job. He used to be very sensitive about it. We've got good teachers at every school he's been to.

Finally feeling better today!! My BIL just got a new smoker so he's making smoked pork butt today. We've had smoked chicken, chicken wings, brisket, pork, baby back ribs, everything under the sun!! My goal is to get him to try smoking mullet...I love it but no one else is too crazy about fish, unfortunately. At least there are hardly any dishes to clean up after a feast, though!!

Oh, thank goodness! I'm not familiar with that type of fish and my first thought went to the mullet hairstyle and thinking that can't possibly be right or it's a joke. That's what should be done with a mullet, but still had to be a joke.

Having a sad morning. I need to start getting ready for a quick trip to NYC to see the Dresden Dolls. I'm also going to hit the pool for the first time this year to start on getting my swimming up to par for a divemaster certification, which I must do before I can get an instructor's certification. I haven't tried to swim since I had surgery on my elbow in January, but it has healed well, and I'm looking forward to being back in the water! Meanwhile, I am doing what I do best: procrastination.
