The latest track has shifted Matthew more west-- not good for the east coast of FL. The power of the Ka-Tet is strong. We have all seen this in the past. The slighted jog more west could possibly bring a catastrophic situation to most of the east coast. Hold all those who are in the path of Matthew in strong vibes or prayers.
Stay safe and keep in touch - sending a prayer right now

I'm back with a request for more prayers. My mother-in-law passed away yesterday. As some of you may know, her husband passed only 3 months ago (1 day short of to the day). Following is what my husband wrote to our friends at church. It is lovely. I feel so badly for him and his brother. It's been rough. I'm off to CA this Saturday for a week and really need some prayers and positive thoughts sent our way as we make it through the service and the weeks of mourning ahead of us. Thanks in advance to everyone and as always, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

My mom, Melinda (Linda) Ann Martinez passed away peacefully this afternoon at the age of 76 as a result of lung cancer just 3 months after my dad's passing. Perhaps both of them could not stand to have cocktails and a cigarette alone. They are now together again for eternity in the light of Christ in heaven.

My mom was an extraordinary person. Daughter, Wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, PTA president, business owner, volunteer. Whatever her title, she was always there for everyone, to include the cats, fish, birds, rabbits, dog, chipmunks that called her backyard home. A true disciple of St. Francis. We all came first, always.

I am extremely grateful for your support and prayers during this difficult time for my family. It's never easy losing a parent, but coming on the heels of losing my father and the suddenness of her illness and passing makes this a tough pill to swallow.

As many of you know my goal of retiring this year and moving to California in the near future was in part to spend more time with my parents. Unfortunately that did not come to pass. However, I have been able to be there with my family in my parents' final months and for this I am most grateful.

I will let you know the funeral arrangements shortly. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in memory of my mother to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Association, or your local animal shelter.

May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.

I'm so sorry, love! Your husband must just be reeling from this loss right on top of the loss of his dad. And you too - God bless you both! You all hold tight. My prayers are with you. Peace and love to you both!
