I just tried my hand at plumbing......okay, my hand was forced.
I went to retrieve clean laundry from the basement, and discovered a small puddle which was made by a bathtub drain pipe that decided to spring a leak. I called a couple of people for advice, but no one was home. After checking things out, I decided that a connector had worked its way loose, and the pipes had disconnected. I had to climb up in a chair, and use my shoulder as a third hand to help hold the pipes together while I tightened the connector. So far, it's not leaking.

If he dislocated it during half-time, I have some questions.
No, he was a goalkeeper for Dundee. He said he got a call-up when he was 16, and when he arrived there was Dundee United and another Dundee club next door and he thought he was signed up for Dundee United. Badly dislocating your thumb could serioulsy hinder a goalkeeper's potential, but he played 2nd division which is the equivalent of 1st division today, so that is pretty good standard. I told him I used to keep a scrapbook back when I was like 8,9, 10, of all the English soccer players like Kevin Keegan, Malcolm MacDonald. Now I told him I kept a scrapbook of Stephen King. I buy magazines and stuff. I print stuff out on the internet and even make pictures of him buy pasting them on the wall and then copying them on a sketch pad. Sometimes I wack on some music in the background.

I'm guilty of the same teenage delusion, but will add that my cousin and I thought that we'd travel the world in an RV after we finished high school....Haha! Both my brother and I lived at home until we were in our mid twenties. We had it pretty easy. We had to do our own laundry, help with meals, and clean our own rooms.....but Mom was so particular about cleaning the rest of the house, that she chose to do it herself rather than have us do it "wrong". She financed our cars for us, and we paid the payments to her.
NICE! Both of mine have bought their own cars. Josh had more than enough saved to pay for the whole thing, but instead paid all but $1K and financed for a year that so he could start to build credit. Rachel financed most of hers, but still only got a 3 year loan (one year is paid off). I didn't have a car or license until I was 20 because my parents said I had to be able to buy my own car and pay the insurance. Bummer being the oldest--by the time my youngest brother was 16 he was driving my mom's brand new Eclipse.

Hi Sundrop, You probably just saved yourself $1,500.00. Good job!

Good Morning Sundrop! I once soldered a hot water pipe to stop it from leaking. Once I had a fist size glob of solder covering he pipe I called my neighbour and he removed my mess and soldered it beautifully in under 5 minutes. I provided the solder and leaky pipe though, so my role was pretty important.
Good morning!!!

I usually start all my projects by calling my uncle and asking to borrow something like a power saw. He usually replies with "good gawd, no!", and comes over to fix whatever it is before I can do much damage. He wasn't home when I called last night, so I was on my own.

I’m glad everything worked out for you, Sunny. Sometimes sandpaper, flux, solder and a blow torch can be used for good instead of evil. :)

I probably could have used that book you offered me not too long ago :biggrin2:
Those particular drain pipes are PVC......so I'll just hang on to the other stuff to keep you and OoO in line.......

I'm going with several coworkers to see Hidden Figures. I rarely go to the movies, so I am looking forward to it!

Found a mouse in the house yesterday. Set traps last night. Found one little fellow that succumbed to the peanut butter in the traps. I was too scared to remove the mouse from the trap so I picked it up with a big long shovel and threw the trap away. Found out that my screams are higher pitched than my wife's. I think I'll spend the rest of the day searching for my manhood.
Sure you're not related to Dave Barry mal ? :highly_amused::congratulatory::adoration:

Yesterday I got four fillings at the dentist - was there for two hours and it cost $477 - that's why I was not on here last night.

Today is just kick back and relax night - planning our vacation for this summer - might drive to Michigan to see Mackinac Island

I'll take the last two weeks of June off and hope that the weather cooperates.

So - anybody else do anything interesting?
