Boasting how he gambled on just about anything!
Fun little story matter-of-factly told.
You know how they say you should never leave your drink unattended?
I now know, never leave your frog unattended. In each case, someone's getting screwed.
you are most welcome, Tery.Thank you Spidey. Forgot about that darn time difference.
I love Twain's casual language, really down-home. It's one reason I refer to SK as a a modern-day Mark Twain. The idea of pouring the shot down the frog's throat...!
I wondered if maybe he was Australian
This is a neat little parable and shows why Twain is so beloved. His essay on Queen Victoria's diamond Jubilee parade was fascinating, too. I have the complete Twain now. For 99 cents. Gotta love e-books
That is a good catch.I couldn't help but think of the singing frog in the Looney Tunes cartoon. Oh, you want me to perform now? I think not.

Yeah I’ll still do the black cat but I have no idea how to organize these things. Please note: the reading discussion group will take a break until Wednesday October 24, due to board closure.
Wayoftheredpanda had suggested : “The Black Cat” by Edgar Allen Poe.
Will tag him after re opening to see if this is still the plan.
It alright, I can see it now.I had started a new post about the next group read , and accidently replied to Tery in same post. Have edited it. The post tagging you is #13 above. Sorry for the confusion.
