Went to the grocery store yesterday and expected there to not be any TP but was taken by surprise that there was also no eggs, the entire pasta area had been cleaned out except for a few boxes of mac & cheese, the meat/poultry aisle had a lot of empty space, and water was rationed to one gallon/purchase. I only use bottled water for my coffee maker because the water is so hard here that I don't want to risk using tap water so not a huge issue. There was probably more that had been wiped out but at that point, decided I might as well just finish up and go home. I may regret that but one of the employees said they had a delivery truck coming in at least 3 days this week so hoping to hit it right later. I have food in my pantry and freezer so won't starve even if they mandate a shelter in place for a couple of weeks and there's still food delivery from restaurants--for now. I did notice that the produce section was still well-stocked which could be a commentary on American diets or just that people don't want to get too much to have it spoil. dunno.gif

I don't know where people are putting all of this stuff.

Some of my colleagues are wringing their hands about the rash of cancellations lately. What I see is a paradigm shift to remote, so I'm sending out a newsletter to clients telling them how we can facilitate their remote proceedings not only without whiz-bang equipment at our office but our technical know-how to get them set up in their own offices.

I have a deposition scheduled today where the law office sent out, "We're conducting it from our office, but nobody come here. Everyone phone in."

Buy stock** in Zoom. Boy howdy.

**Offered for entertainment value only. Do not take investment advice from me.

Even Weight Watchers has stopped their weekly meetings and will be doing them remotely until at least April 3rd (via Zoom BTW ;) ). They're putting people on the honor system for weigh ins.

Don't laugh but one emergency food I keep around that maybe no one else thinks of is popcorn (regular popcorn not microwave :)) . It doesn't go bad and it doesn't take up much room (until you pop it). This is not a good food for when the power goes out but as long as we have power, it works.

I just got back from the grocery store. Didn't need much, more fresh things that I don't buy in advance to keep it from spoiling like you said Moderator . I tend to be one of these people before the virus who is always stocked up with things. Those Mormons have rubbed off on me in that way. So I'm sitting good.

But, I only had a couple of boxes of cat litter in my garage and decided while I was there to pick up another. WTH!!!! The cat litter aisle was pretty much decimated!

What. the. hell. is everyone doing with cat litter? And the aisle in my grocery store is pretty substantial to begin with. I did get a box but it isn't our normal so hope my two finicky a**holes use it.

There's got to be some MacGyver thing with cat litter. Perhaps you stuff the corpse of your loved one with it until they pick them up to make Soylent Green.
