The only time I read any King konsecutively was when I re-read DT 1-4 in anticipation of the release of the final 3 volumes.
Steady fella...I got overzealous when I first came across the term “constant reader” immediately after I read the Dark Tower series all 7 book consecutively. I was riding a wave of arrogance and vanity generated from the awesome world of gunslingers. I thought I was some kind of “constant reader” gunslinger and that I could read it all. Then the further I got into my reading journey the harder it was to consider stopping reading: it was an epic, awesome and amazing experience… and flat out addictive and obsessive. It was a challenge, it tested and grew my stamina, tolerance, determination, it generated an entire spectrum of human emotion and ripped them opened like exposed nerves, it awoke forgotten memories, it was a dark horizon constantly expanding, a continuous dream and a universe: it was Big, Bigger,it was time, and size, and in the center (nexus) of it all was the Dark Tower.
Steady fella...
...and that lady is no feller....Don’t worry: I’m fine and competent, and fully able to distinguish between fiction and reality. I was just having a bit of fun there.
Oh, I see you said 1 a year. How did you read Dark Tower, have you been a Stephen King fan for a long time, and read the Dark Tower books as each book was released; the Dark Tower series is my favorite book series, I cant see how anybody would only want to read one a year, unless they had read them as they were released
Did you like the ending of The Dark Tower? I thought it was poetic and lovely and everything I wanted it to be, but I know lots of King fans felt differently.
