I still do it! It is too cute to give up in my head.
Ebdim9th - I think the story forum became a "closed" group once the participants names started to be listed. Only they can open the forum. We are working on the list of members who desire to take part (your name is on the list). We also hope to hear from bobledrew to confirm proceeding with the story. There is an alternate plan if needed. Patience.I could see the story forum at the bottom of the main page for a long time but then it disappeared...

Bob has been scarce, but that doesn't mean he's not coming back. Unfortunately, we need to get this ro-DAY-o hoppin' if we want to crank out something decent for Halloween. So here's my thought: why don't we wait until Monday to see if he checks in. If he doesn't, I'll have a rough schedule together so we can shoot through the process. For those who haven't participated before this, the process is such: 1) the writers brainstorm and come up with a few items or situations we want to hit (and some we want to avoid); 2) each writer is given a set amount of time, generally not more than a few days, to get their section in. Whether we all see the work in progress or just have the previous chapters sent to the next writer in line...that's negotiable. I did like having the whole story laid out for the entire SKMB when it was finished (instead of the story being open to everyone, right from the beginning). There will be a lag of a day or so, to give me time to do a rough edit of each chapter/section as it comes in, then the next writer will be up. This is serious: with our limited time, no one can be late with their section. PLEASE. 3) I'll do a final edit, trying to make sure that we don't have any HUGE lapses (lol). 4) the whole story is presented in an open thread to the whole SKMB. Up until that point, please limit story discussion to the 2015 discussion thread.
Got it?

Since we need to get going by Monday, consider Sunday the LAST CALL FOR WRITERS.
Mods, I'm not even allowed in the story discussion thread yet (lol), but what do I need to do to be sure all of the writers listed are allowed in? I have no idea what's already been discussed for themes, etc, but give a me a few minutes in there and I'll get up to speed
If Bob comes back before Monday, no harm done in having a plan in place
Thank you, Flake. Once again, above and beyond the call.Absolutely nothing has been posted in there since his introductory post and a list of these members were added:

I will send Jordan a message to see that you and any others on your list are given access to the Story Forum.
Looks like Ms. Mod beat me to it. All of the users are in the group, and I've set skimom2 as an additional moderator (with bobledrew) of the story writing forum.Absolutely nothing has been posted in there since his introductory post and a list of these members were added:

Edit: Oops, forgot to say, thank you very much skimom2 for stepping in to get things going in bobledrew's absence, very much appreciated.

You certainly have a very active imagination, Rrty. (this is a compliment)Just a suggestion for next year, not this year, but perhaps a group of writers could each write their own very short tale and the SKMB could produce a horror anthology to enjoy (for the board, not for publication). Maybe the word count could be no more than 1000 words, 750 words or less being preferable.
Also, maybe a group of writers could contribute to a short film script and then have someone on here turn the script into a real short film. Imagine a SKMB short film for Halloween?
That even leads to another thought: maybe, for one Halloween, the SKMB gets dollar-baby permission on one of King's available stories, a group of members put together a script, and someone films the script. If the rules aren't elastic enough to allow posting the video here to the board for a short time, then maybe it could be uploaded to YouTube and only put on a private setting (I'm not sure how that works, I'm not a member of that site, and I don't know if a private setting still allows other users the ability to see it with an invitation). Or, the script could be posted (I assume that would be okay, but I don't really know), someone could film it, and then take it to a festival (I assume one doesn't have to be a student to participate in that program, but again, I have no idea).
These are things I would like to see, but not necessarily participate in, I should point out.
Yeah I know what ya mean, like I would love to see buck nekkid womens wrestlin' in Jello (seems to me about the only thing it's good for), but to actually participa...yeah bad example never mindJust a suggestion for next year, not this year, but perhaps a group of writers could each write their own very short tale and the SKMB could produce a horror anthology to enjoy (for the board, not for publication). Jordan, can you add Demeter?I would like to add my name to the group of writers if that's OK. Never been part of this before but it should be fun.
