Anyone see this one? I honestly think this is one of the best screenplays ever written. In terms of structure, plot, pacing, and message, it has it all. It is a romantic comedy that a guy can like. It's almost in a sense to romantic comedies what Star Wars was to sci-fi films when it was released.
I know, an exaggeration, but seriously, this film should have won an Oscar. You actually pick up different things upon further viewings. And I have to say, I love the expression of the idea that love is really just a fantasy...because it is. It really is The Matrix...it's just there to benefit evolution, when you think about it. When you're in love, and you say love is real, you are no different than Neo refusing to take the pill (now, I have never really seen that trilogy, so I hope I got the reference/metaphor correct).
