Decided to check out a jack reacher novel after the interview that king had with. So why not start with the first one. Killing floor. Good book, page turner, thriller. No complaints just not like king or a lot of authors. Not real deep reading but I guess it's not supposed to be. It is what it is. Quick read. I guessed I liked it bc I started another one. Without fail. Would recommend for a fun read. I will probably read every single one.

Finally finished Lee Child's Never Go Back (2013). If anyone would like to read it, PM me your address and I'd be happy to send it to you. I believe it's a first edition (in very good condition except for the thick red marker lines across the text block near the end bands - courtesy of the used bookstore :( ). If not, I will donate it.

I did the same thing. It wasn't the worst book that I've ever read but also not the best. The short Hemingway-type sentences left me with the impression of someone in a writing class trying to impersonate a writer by rote. And the plot is so wildly implausible with its body count and improbable coincidences that it was impossible to take seriously even as fiction. My favorite was when Reacher randomly gets off a bus traveling cross country and happens to walk past the location where his brother has been murdered just a few hours before. Ordinarily I would have thrown the book in the woods at that point, but I carried on and finished it. If I were marooned on a deserted island with a crate of these books I would probably read them, but they are not my cup of tea.
