I'm in the same boat with "It." I loved the movie, but reading the book is slow going. I have read several SK books recently and consumed them without end. :) But It is different for some reason. Looking forward to reading the Mr. Mercedes sequel. BTW, I really love this site. So thankful for it.
IT took me quite a while, due largely to it's size, and also in that IT's, imho, one of his most complicated stories.

I had troubles with Desperation because i read it so soon after the Regulators. When i did a reread i read Desperation first, no trouble at all, but then i had trouble with the Regulators which i hadn't had the first time. Coincidence?
I guess I assumed that The Regulators would be like a sequel to Desperation (which I happened to enjoy fully), or wanted it to be. Like Kurben, maybe I read it too soon for me after reading Desperation (though, the two were packaged together).

Thats interesting. I found it so easy to read and it is the book of king i have read most times. I know every word of it but i still keep reading it for the 20th time or so. If you can't pinpoint a reason my guess would be (based entirely on myself) that you read too much King in to too short a time. At least i need a Kingrest now and then to fuel my batteries so to speak. Thats just based on my experience from reading King. After the third-fourth or so in a row at least i needed to read other authors for a while.

...it took me an egregious amount of time to finally grasp Lisey's Story...
Me three. (Seriously - my mind kept wandering at first but I just kept on going) - then I found it sort of "hit it's stride" for me and I enjoyed it from then on in.

Aw, all this talk of IT, I love reading IT. It did take me a long time on my 1st read, but that is due to it's size and the fact that (apart from one or two half assed disinterested reads in school) it was the 1st book I ever read - in my late 20s. I don't read every day, and when I do, it's never a hundred page session. But I had no problems reading it apart from 2 scenes that I found particularly uncomfortable.

I keep hoping Under The Dome will be like that for me. I know I had that experience with The Dead Zone, so maybe! Then again, I've read Tommyknockers at least 4 times, and I still go, "Meh."
I never did like the ending to Under the Dome, even the second time. Tommyknockers will never be a favorite, but like UTD I loved the journey just not the finish line.

So, I confessed to having not read all of Kings work yet. My next confession(and then I'll do 20 hail marys and hopefully be forgiven) is that I have started a book and not finished it. :a24:
I started Insomnia when it first came out and just could not get through it. I haven't tried again since but I feel that I must one day.
Anyone else?
I haven't read all of King's works. So what? There are so many books out there that I want to read that I have to strategize my reading.

Not all of King's works appeal to me.
