First I've heard of this...does it apply to customers in other countries or only the USA?

Should apply to anyone buying from Amazon.com (US jurisdiction). For us saps buying from .co.uk, well...rip-off Britain, innit? Corporate interests rule. The attitude here would be along the lines of "So they act in cartel. We've all got shares, what? More foie gras?"
Or they'd spin some guff about Amazon Europe being based in Luxembourg, meaning they can't legally do anything (which is guff because they still need a licence to trade here, meaning UK operations can be ruled on by our courts).

It's all a bit of a bugger. I'd have been in for something of a windfall.
