I hope that main character can act and look a bit meaner than he does in his publicity shots (he sort of looks like "The boy next door"Casting has begun for the series and my understanding is that filming will begin soon.

They're gonna have to age him and ugly him up a little bit, too.I hope that main character can act and look a bit meaner than he does in his publicity shots (he sort of looks like "The boy next door"
Ah - never thought of that! They are starting with Wizard and Glass, though, right? So he is a good young Roland!
....if they make them a lot older, it completely destroys the premise of novice gunslingers on their first "mission".....It's funny. Even though Joana Ribeiro doesn't have misty grey eyes and blonde hair, she has the exact same effect on me that Susan had on Roland - I'm absolutely blown away by her.
I saw her in Terry Gilliam's The Man who killed Don Quixote and you will understand why she was cast if you know what happens to Susan in the end. It's rather strange, because it goes beyond type casting: exactly the same happens in that film as in the book - let's say she won't just look smoking hot.
It's as if someone saw that film and directly cast her based on that event...
I'm wondering though, if they gonna stick to the story in Wizard and Glass, aren't they all too old? Susan is 16 in that, and I can't remember if Roland's age is mentioned, but he's surely also a teenager.
So it seems they're probably gonna do the book (because Cordelia is also cast), but they're probably gonna make the ages quite a lot older.
