I don't mind sequels in general. Obviously if he did that one he'd have to come up with different characters. Distant sequels are usually better than bringing the same characters back for round two. Or look at Doctor Sleep which utilizes a character much differently (I assume, since I have yet to read that one).

I heard that Stephen King has started a sequel to Salem's Lot. This is not surprising: Actually, I'm hoping to write a sequel to almost all of my novels and you will find those in Wolves of the Calla, Song of Susannah, and The Dark Tower--really in the whole Dark Tower sequence. You'll find out a lot of what happened in 'Salem's Lot for one thing and one character in particular - I'm not going to tell you which one. This is in no way an advertisement for The Dark Tower books, but it is my way of saying that The Dark Tower books finishes up a lot of business from the other books.

I will try the pancake on the head thing as well. But this is not part of the Dark Tower books, this is stand alone. Correct me please if I'm wrong.
That's not what he's working on and unless he started and then stopped the book he was talking about in that quote some time ago, I've never seen any manuscript in which he's developing that idea. That happens more often than you might think, i.e. that he'll have an idea that he talks about publicly but that doesn't go anywhere either because other ideas take precedence or once he tried writing it, it didn't work out and he abandoned it.

Thanks for that. It might have been something I might have seen floating about that there might be a new Salem's Lot mini-series or something.

Not all the vampires died when Mears killed Barlow. I know that Mike Ryerson didn't die. Also I don't really think this cover is in keeping with the nature of the book.
