Mercy
The Dark Tower
The Langoliers

The thing that put me off The Langoliers was the crappy CGI, kinda ruined it for me, the cast were pretty good thoughI love The Langoliers. My worst would be Needful Things
Can't argue with the crappy CGIThe thing that put me off The Langoliers was the crappy CGI, kinda ruined it for me, the cast were pretty good though
At a glance I thought you said "happy crappy".Can't argue with the crappy CGI
Do because sometimes time can change perspective. To be fair I haven't seen it in years so I'll give it another day at the park to see if I like it any better.
I haven't seen Mercy or The Dark Tower because I've heard similar opinions, but I'm with DooWop on Craig Toomey and the Langoliers. I know it's campy, but the actors really commit, and the CGI is on par with everything else made for tv around that time so I still enjoy it. I think we can all agree on Lawnmower Man, but honestly, can you imagine adapting that story in any way that audiences would accept? I'd probably like it, but it's a weird one.I don't absolutely hate any of them but of the ones I've seen the weakest would be,

Once again...where are my glasses? Adaptations...(clears throat)...I'd say The Lawnmower Man is the worst, for obvious reasons. My least favorite adaptations are Cell and The Tommyknockers. The new Pet Sematary movie and The Dark Tower will probably be added to this list, but I haven't seen either one.I'm with Steffen and GNT and others- hate is probably not the right word. However, my least favorite novels are Rage, Rose Madder, and Cell.
Just my opinion but right now this board is like a hospice patient on a morphine drip. I think people join this community to have some sort of connection to the author. And that connection was always Ms Mod. With her impending retirement the connection will be severed. Look at recent events: Hot Topics was shut down. The board is only open three days a week. Ms Mod barely participates any more. As a result, we see less people join and less members participate. Like it or not these things make it easier to shut down the board when the time comes next year. And IMO they're doing things the right way to make the end less painful for the diehards here.

Wow I really had no idea this was in the works. I guess I should have been scouring the general discussions more. So, for someone out of the loop, it sounds like the staff in charge of the boards is retiring? Do we have a closing date?Just my opinion but right now this board is like a hospice patient on a morphine drip. I think people join this community to have some sort of connection to the author. I'm the only paid moderator as I work directly for Stephen and the others volunteer their time. I will be retiring at the end of June 2020 and the Board will be shuttered then. Many of the current SKMB members also participate in the Board started by member osnafrank which you can check out here.Wow I really had no idea this was in the works. Wow, well, thank you for your hard work (and the info). I guess I imagined a small team of techies in different time zones around the world scrutinizing all the activity on the board, probably with high BDNF levels. Anyway--sorry to hear it but all good things come to an end, and thanks again.
Thanks! You might want to check out the Playground as you'll see mostly familiar faces there and it's my understanding it will continue on after this one shuts down.Wow, well, thank you for your hard work (and the info). The Playground will absolutely continue once the Official SKMB is shuttered. Familiar faces, same basic rules as the SKMB- open 24/7 .Thanks! You might want to check out the Playground as you'll see mostly familiar faces there and it's my understanding it will continue on after this one shuts down.
