I prefer the artwork on this UK version... even has the colour yellowI think you guys won this one in terms of best cover, the UK version is, well......
Oh well, ots what's inside that counts.
Having never been published, I am not an expert, however, I surely expect that the process is a long one including the steps involved with approvals, proofing and the actual printing of the material. So, did anyone else notice in the 'About The Author' column on the inside back flap of the DJ (US version) that it says his works include yada, yada yada 'Under The Dome, now a major TV series on CBS' (it's been cancelled how many months ago?) and there's no mention of him getting an award from the POTUS. How long ago were these books printed anyway? Things that make you go 'Hmmmmmm.'
Also curious why the author photo is the one from 2011-- used in 11/22/63 and Wind Through The Keyhole -- instead of a more recent one.So, did anyone else notice in the 'About The Author' column on the inside back flap of the DJ (US version) that it says his works include yada, yada yada 'Under The Dome, now a major TV series on CBS' (it's been cancelled how many months ago?) and there's no mention of him getting an award from the POTUS. Not in time to fix for the print books but the audio covers do have those edits. I don't know if they'll fix them for subsequent printings--will have to check. He doesn't have a mustache now? I'm guessing he decided he wanted a change but didn't want to do a photo shoot so they went back to an older one. Also curious why the author photo is the one from 2011-- used in 11/22/63 and Wind Through The Keyhole -- instead of a more recent one.
Just curious why that one was used. Anyone know?
No, although there has been a time or two when I've given feedback if something really stuck out to me. Steve gets final say on the artwork for the covers but most of the time is happy with what they suggest. That's only for the US and UK covers--the foreign language ones either use what another publisher has done or if they come up with different artwork, he doesn't see it.Thanks for sharing all of those covers! I love seeing covers from other countries. I'm patiently waiting for Christmas to get this book. I know my mom will get it for me.
Moderator do you get to help pick the covers? That would be such a fun job!
I think yours will be the same psychedelic cover as the UK ones. More like a bad trip than a bad dream.I don't know what ours is like yet... I forgot to go look for it when I was in town this morning.
(I know, I know.. but I'm planning a wedding, my brain is complete mush. )
I went to a (large Warehouse) store yesterday and they said they had 4 copies, but we couldn't find a single one. Grr.. I'm working today so won't get time but will try again as soon as I can.... it's frustrating.I think yours will be the same psychedelic cover as the UK ones. More like a bad trip than a bad dream.
