My grill is very cold and lonely.....waiting for the weather to cooperate just a little bit.

We usually marinate brats in beer.....sometimes beef or ribs.
I prefer good ol' Kentucky bourbon for steaks

So you have tried the beer before, Sunny? I usually just use some kind of store bought BBQ sauce or marinade or try something homemade. Is good? Breaks my heart thinking of using one of my beers for naught........LOL
The beer really does well with brats.
I like it for certain cuts of beef, and for ribs.....but I will usually use an additional sauce for ribs as they cook.

I don't like beer for drinking, so it doesn't bother me to use one for marinade :D

Now you're talkin!

What's your favorite on the grill, Holly?
Pork chops- it takes a lot of patience and a lot of beers to get them done enough without being dry - I've mastered it, but I love grill sitting. Just love it. I also like to do roasted vegetables on the grill. the kids love it when I grill brats or kielbasa and make that fancy plate like they do at the Rendezvous here in Memphis - have you tried it? If not, you must. What do you like to grill?

Have you tried marinating pork chops in wine, HollyGolightly? We used one of the local muscadine wines for chops a while back, and it was really good

Oh yum - no, I haven't tried marinating anything in wine, but wow - I bet it'd be good!

Edit: Except for myself - me, I marinate in a couple of glasses of wine almost every night. Good for my mood, good for my husband, you know - just all around wine is a good thing.

Weather permitting, I try to fire up the grill whenever I can. This winter has been a particular challenge to say the least. The weatherman (ahem!) has promised some warmer temps for this weekend............ so.............................

I'm going to try this out.

The Number 1 Reason to Marinate Your Meat in Beer

How's your grill doing?

Make a marinade using Samuel Adams double bock beer. I did that once and it was good. I added some oil and lemon juice and a couple spices (I can't remember exactly what I did, it was a long time ago but I remember it was good). Double Bock has a strong flavor. I haven't had any for a while (kind of hard to find around here) but it is great beer. It takes a little getting used to because of the strong flavor and high alcohol content but it's good stuff and made a good marinade.

I'm one of those (medium) rare breeds that enjoys just about anything. And I'm glad you included veggies in your post. Corn, potatoes and vegetable kabobs are to die for!

And I will try that!!MMMMMmmmmm

Thanks fljoe!! My local Hannaford usually has every Sam Adams known to mankind so I will look for it!

I love a joint of lamb on the bbq... prawns, steak. And veggies. My friends up the road are South African. They were having a contest with friends over who could have the most bbq's in a year. My friends managed 240. Bare in mind we live in the UK.... A pretty admirable feat I thought!
