I'm just wondering as I love the sound of the snare drums and all things of the Scottish marching band. I wish I could play those snare drums as when I hear them I get a shiver up my spine. About a year ago I was having a beer at an Irish pub here in Newcastle and the Newcastle Scottish Band came marching and playing through the pub with the girl with the collection box. Everybody got up. I remember when I was in Inverness in Scotland in 1986 and I went to this castle and there was this black haired guy done up in kilt etc and he started playing the bagpipes, and after about two minutes he said something in Scottish Gaelic and the translator said: '"He said that you are welcome to this castle and to our land'" They seemed to like me when I mentioned that my father was Swedish. 'Scotland is the land of the Pict, the Celt, and the Viking.'
Strange race those Picts, disappeared from history pretty much, but the Romans couldn't touch them.
