Look a likes definatly won't make a good movie, but let's wait and see what they have in store for us. Andy put together a great cast in the new one, let's give the adults a chance.
Both have their moments of following the book, and devianting from it as well. The biggest obstacle for the mini-series was the network tv censorship rules. But I still think Tim Curry pulled off a memoriable IT/Pennywise although we hardly saw it go in for the kill. I think the 2017 movie did a great job capturing the spirit of the novel(based on what I've read so far).
For me I have to say Tim Curry is still my favorite Pennywise. Don't get me wrong, I thought Bill did an amazing job, and he was creepy, and scary. To me, I thought he was most effective when he was left alone to do his acting. Where the CGI work was not there, or just very minimal. While Tim didn't have the big budget Skarsgard had, or the aide of computers to quicken the movements, or do things not possible. Tim had to rely on his acting, and the makeup to bring this character to life.
