I deleted a couple of your posts as you had just quoted yourself without adding any new content, my thought was that you had already made your point (and we usually just delete duplicate posts anyway)
The reason you had so many deleted tonight was that you just kept re-posting the same one each time it was deleted. :biggrin2:

I understand that you were trying to turn the conversation more toward the light-hearted, but I suspect many folks would expect to find more serious conversation under the thread Coronavirus title, considering the nature of the situation.
(The I’m Jealous Of The Big Threads 4 thread might also be a good one for posting all the funny Corona Virus meme's to?)
well, then you better get to deleting & moving a whole lot of posts in this thread LMAO :p

I quoted two of my older posts to go along with the newer posts.
They FIT.....then.
And I have quoted myself before with adding any new commentary without any problem.
Lol, I guess it just depends on the moderator and the mood they're in at the time. :D
I reposted because I thought there was a glitch going on. :)
Turns out to be an itch in the delete finger. :p

Do you think we might have fully hashed this one out yet? :biggrin2:

Now the coronavirus reached us, too (Russia) and things tend to go crazy arouand here. Unfortunately, our economy is not ready for such things. Our government seems to be eager to kill a lot of its people instead of helping us live through it without many losses. People go and buy everything they can as the prices will grow soon, prices for medications have already grown at the last few days, we have awfully long lines at drug stores, online stores stop working, there are just too many people trying to use them. Some people may be left with no job and no money as the result. Things get too sad now...

(((Lina))) people are understandably very frightened, the economic changes that will come will be quite unlike anything we've seen for a very long time. The world-wide nature of this illness and not knowing how or when it may be eradicated makes for really trying times for everyone.

We (all of us, world-wide) need to remember to be kind and patient and to check on our neighbours and if we're symptom-free, help where we can. It may be just delivering food/and medicines to those that are self-isolating, but we have to be so mindful of those that are (more) vulnerable to this virus.

Anyone know if there is any chance the experimental vaccine trial could be halted and expanded if things start to look like they are working in terms of antibody production? That would seem to me to be a best practice in this new time. I've read that a depression is not inconceivable at this point, and to tell the truth, I had thought that before reading the notion. I know they are skipping steps in the trial (e.g., animal studies simultaneous with human trial), and I'm wondering if many more steps could be skipped.

I've read some disturbing studies about how long the virus lasts in the air. The surface studies, while bad, aren't as much concern to me since one can wash your way out of that, but the air thing is hopefully wrong (i.e., last for hours). I've also seen, as I'm sure others here have, the NY Times report on the government assessment that Cov2 could express itself over several waves over eighteen months.

I don't know how some species of a depression is avoidable.

I was shopping today, rather few people around. But the stores are not empty, there is not quire as much on the shelves but enough. Not really panicshopping yet. The thing that has gone the way of the Dodo is desinfectant, both handwash and papertowels are extremely difficult to find. Otherwise you can get what you need. Lots of toiletpaper!
Restaurants are open but rather less people there. Saw an interview with a 60-year old man where he said he felt obligated to support them so continued to come in and take a few beers in the evenings in fave pub. Said i dont want to see them go bellysidde up because of no costumers in a month

This is tourism season in Florida, so this is really going to be devastating for restaurants, bars and hotels around here. This is going to put a lot of people out of work and probaly do in some of the local restaurants.

Had this happened on my watch, they would have been deleted as well. As Flakes said, duplicate posts such as the ones you'd posted with no new comment and not quoting anyone else would have been thought to be a technical glitch that resulted in the same post showing up more than once. Happens every so often. It's nothing personal--either on the part of the poster or the moderator--as it would be deleted no matter who had posted it or who was moderating.
