I've read 33 books of sk and only 1 I didn't really enjoy & that was tommyknockers. It's in 3 parts and I loved the 1st part and last 30 pages or so but the rest was ugh.
I just finished ls and not really up there imo. But about half way thru I started liking it more. The 1st half I was reading just to get done with it, but I have a couple suggestions that might help u enjoy it more.
I did some research on constant readers thoughts and a common theme whether they liked it or not was it was a departure from his norm. So 1st suggestion is don't start it with a premonition of kings style. Think of it more as a book that was a gift or something and a unknown author. I think if u go into it with a blank slate will be better for you.
The 2nd and bigger one is leading up to it prepare a little. What I mean by that is, and I think the reason why it took me half the book to get into it more, the 3 books I read before LS were two Michael connelly books and a David baldacci. 3 thrillers. So basically I read around 1500 pages of page turning thriller. LS is definitely not a thriller. The pace is slow anyway and after reading those 3 it just inhanced it even more bc of what I was used too. So before u start it read something with more drama or something. If it's gotta be king definitely not thinner ect.
I think if u do those 2 things u will have a better opinion of the novel when finished. Sorry for the length just my 2 cents bc I see quite a few members agree that they didn't like it. Any feedback on this good or bad is welcome. Thanks guys. Now going to start another dark tower. Yeaaaaaa buddy
