I watched SK on Seth Meyers and he said something about Derek Jeter that was really cool... (at about the 1:54 mark)


Okay. Derek Jeter hit was in Yankee Stadium and Mr. King mentioned Fenway Park...but close enough.

I've liked Jeter for a long time now, despite my tending to have no interest in the Yankees enough to actually resist thinking about them.

Okay. I will say that I know little about baseball (not having followed it much since Bob Gibson and the Year of the Pitcher in '68, and even then, not so much), even less about the Yankees, and even less about Mr. Jeter.

But I have heard of his sports classiness, the impact that he's had on his audience. And when his ultimate at-bat resulted in a game-winning RBI....

Well, I love a good sports drama, and that's as good as it gets. Well done, Mr. Jeter. Kudos.

Jeter is good but, I'm not a Yankees fan. This is also Paul Konerko's last season after a wonderful 17 year career. I'm a White Sox fan, so I may be a little biased, but I think he is getting overlooked. Anyway, I'll miss seeing both of them on the field.

What OoO said, Jeter was a class act and carried the title of 'Captain' say true through his game, sportsmanship, and leadership. He's going to be sorely missed.

Red Sox gave Jeter a nice little ceremony today before the game at Fenway. Probably the one and only such ceremony you will ever see or a Yankee at Fenway!

He was the last of the "Evil Empire" Yankees. It will be strange not seeing him on the other side of the rivalry.

Much respect to the man. First ballot hall of famer for sure!
