Desperation and the Regulators are connected. Insomnia connected as well?

I read Desperation years ago. I started Insomnia, got part-way through and stopped(can't recall why- years ago)...
I haven't read The Regulators, but I know that the characters from Desperation are in that story as well...

My question is; is Insomnia in any way connected to these two other books?
I know that all three stories are connected to/ referenced in The Dark Tower somehow.

After reading the DT series, I want to read another series of SK books.

Weeeel. I don't know if i'm the right one to answer this because i'm not sure. My memory of Insomnia, never one of my faves, is that it is not related to Desperation and Regulators but I might be wrong. As for the characters of R and D they are not exactly the same. The names are the same but some of the characters are very different but the books are closely linked. You could say that it is two plays with the same actors but they play different roles but are still in the same theatre. Don't know if that made it any clearer.
About DT-books... A lot of SK books are referenced in them. Sometimes a character from a novel plays a part. But you don't need to have read these books before you read DT. It just makes you smile a little at the references. But remember, i'm not an expert only a Constant reader since the late 70-ties.

I can find connections and talk about them raising a desire in others to come in and spank me. But...yeah...connections. Art. For one. There's a kind of connection to art and artists in...say Desperation and Insomnia. And some of that same kind of connection is big-big between Insomnia and The Dark Tower stories. And who knows, maybe you discover connections that no one has discovered or seen...connections all your own. You can do that...we're allowed...doesn't mean everyone or anyone agrees with us but nobody can take that joy away from you, the reader. Have fun with it. :)
