Did you know coconuts kill more people in the world than sharks do. Approximately 150 people are killed each year by coconuts.

Did you know millions of sharks are killed (by humans) annually, mainly for their fins? Yet we freak out when a shark "attacks" a human a couple times a year.
My ex and I use to fish for shark once or twice a year ( shark tournaments) .. it was a lot of fun.. all night'ers . We didn't kill them for fins. The shark was donated for food by the hosts of the tournaments to food shelters.
I didn't know people killed them for fins??? really? wow . What do they do with the fins , do you know?

Shark fin soup is immensely popular (and expensive) in Asia . I was looking up sharks on YouTube once and I accidentally saw a video of "finning". These monsters actually chop off the sharks' fins and dump the sharks back in the water. I'm am not an animal lover by any means, but that is one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen.

Benjamin Franklin wrote a pamphlet called "Fart Proudly."

"Enquiry of learned Physicians, Chemists, &c. of this enlightened Age. It is universally well known, That in digesting our common Food, there is created or produced in the Bowels of human Creatures, a great Quantity of Wind."

Gandhi used to do "chastity experiments," having young people of both sexes bathe and sleep together. However, sexual talk or activity was punished.

Some of the gunpowder used in the American Revolutionary War was made, in part, from pee. The old-timey recipe for gunpowder - which was in short supply during the war - includes nitre, which could be made from soaking soil in human or animal urine and letting it dry.

Does this mean that George Washington crossed the Delaware to gather pee?

Did you know?

The Mustang and the Arabian breeds of horses often have one less lumbar vertebrae than other breeds of horses. They can also have one less rib than other breeds.
According to myth, the Medicine Hat stallion has an extra rib. Pure myth, since a Medicine Hat isn't a specific breed. Just a specific set of markings. Any breed can have medicine hat markings. A white body, a black or brown "hat" - only the top of the head and ears are painted. If color extends lower on the face or head, it's not a Medicine Hat. It's a war bonnet. And a Medicine Hat has a "shield" - a patch of color on the front chest of the horse that protects its heart, and its rider. Legend has it that no harm can come a rider who's on a Medicine Hat.
Any other markings can be present as long as these essentials are clearly definable.

This horse has the hat, but not the shield.

This one is close, but he's wearing a war bonnet, not a medicine hat.

This guy is a Medicine Hat.

And he is a Medicine Hat. His shield is small, but it's there.

Most Medicine Hats are paints, but here's a couple gorgeous Gypsies.

And finally, Azura. I've admired her since she was born.

They named her Azura because of her gorgeous blue eyes.

I'd love to have a Medicine Hat. I'm forever on the lookout.

I didn't know a lot of that stuff, Lepp! I picked up some info from a book Margeurite Henry wrote, but not everything you just put down. Like the extra rib, or the difference between a Medicine Hat or war bonnet.

One interesting thing that was said in that book, was that "true" Mustangs have their front legs attached differently; their legs make more of a "v", where blooded horses' legs are supposed to make more of a square. Any idea if there's truth to that? I haven't spent enough time around blooded horses to see for myself. Mustangs have been about all I've had. (they're my favorite) And when I am around a "pure" horse, it never crosses my mind to see how their forelegs are shaped!
