Drawing of the three?

Looking to purchase 1st edition but confused on all the different ones out. I believe I found the correct cover but was wondering if true 1st edition came signed by artist. Have seem some that were signed and some that r not. Also does anyone know if these came shrink wrapped.

I think the only original ones published by Donald M. Grant that were signed by the artist were also signed by King and they were either numbered or lettered editions. Then a few years later Grant had the artist (Phil Hale) sign copies of the trade edition which were sold at a substantial mark-up (IMHO). Years later Grant did a boxed set edition, which had the third printing of The Gunslinger, a second printing of The Drawing Of The Three and a first printing of The Wastelands. This second printing of TDOTT had all new illustraions in it by Hale. I don't recall seeing that this edition was signed by Phil Hale.

The original TRADE edition from Grant was not signed--only the signed limited. As kingricefan said, Grant offered some of the trade editions signed by Hale at a markup.

Thanks all. Did these come shrink ed wrapped when they came out. I'm but to buy one and the seller is saying it's 1st edition bc of the shrink wrap. Nowadays a lot of scammed are shrink wrapping items and calling it new

Yes, they were originally in shrinkwrap from the publisher. Do you have a pic you can post so we can see what edition it is for sure?
