As some of you know I'm not having a great time right now, and there is a particular name attatched to the centre of my problems. It may sound trivial but thinking about it, hearing it, seeing it all make me feel awful. A reminder of this constant negativity.

The kick in the teeth - the name in question is shared by one of the Losers club. IT is my favourite novel I have ever read, and when I tried to read it to make myself feel better, I had to stop. Reading that name over and over again was too painful. I fear I have now lost my favourite book.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Time will heal that. I know that sounds cliché, but it is so true. Every day gets you further from the epicenter of the kick in the teeth.

No, but I have had several songs ruined by past relationships. You know how when you associate a certain song with a certain person, then things go bad, and now every time you hear that song you feel bad?
Oh, yes.

I'm sorry that IT was ruined for you The Nameless. I'm sure Dana Jean is right, it will go away in time. I'm so sorry.

I hope so, it has been 6 months so far. Without going into too much, it's not the typical guy gets dumped story. I feel it is going to take as long as it takes me to find someone else I can focus my love and attention on.

fushingfeef with regards to songs, absolutely. There are some songs, even artists that I associate with her so much. I cant listen to them any more, I dont get anger, I get sadness.

I'm so sorry you're hurting this much, have you thought about talking to a counsellor? I do hope you can get past the hurt so that you may be open to finding the special person that will make a difference for you in your life... and in the meantime, I hope you can find joy in some of the other things in life that make you feel good.

Anthony, put IT down and come back to it another time. Just like with all those favorite songs, it's not ruined for you.
You will feel differently after awhile. And eventually find THE face to associate with all those loved tunes.
My son went through the song ruination, but got over it. I'm happy to say he came and had to tell me "You were right mom."
I said, I know son, I went through it too. :) ;)
Keeping you in prayers always Anthony.
I hope the days are getting better for you, and you can out of the house for fresh air and a change of scenery. :)

I didn't know where else to put this. I used to like John Grisham but that changed when I listened to an interview he did with a publishing company. I wasn't very impressed with him. That's all I'm going to say about that one. I've always preferred Scott Turow anyway. Scott is a good friend of Stephen's and I went to one of his book signings a few years ago.
