I've been a constant reader since I was 13 years old and for one of my birthdays my dad bought this "signed" 1st Edition Misery book on ebay. I loved it! And it was very thoughtful of him. Thing is, I think the signature is a (very bad) fake and that really sucks that my dad got taken for. I suspected right away, so much that I even saved the packing slip the guy filled out to send my dad the book, and his writing is verrry similar to this picture :/ I love the book anyway because it was a gift and now my dad is deceased. I'm basically just posting here because I've never asked anybody else about it.. confirmation I suppose.

Also, I'm not looking to sell any of my collection, but thought this would be the appropriate forum for this post.. feel free to move if needed!

Thanks for looking :)

Hi there, I'm very sorry but yes this is definitely a fake SK signature. :( Condolences on the loss of your father, also.

It really isn't about the signature. It's about the story, both the one printed between those boards, and then the 2nd story about how you got the book and your dad's love in knowing that this would be a special gift for you. It doesn't matter that the signature is a fake. (My original trade first of DT3 that my mom gave to me that is my very first SK collectible edition is really beat up after too many moves while I was in college, but I'll never get rid of that particular copy.)
