I couldn't wait until I became 18 and escaped my family life so that I could become a skateboarder, something my mom would never allow me to do, she always said it would ruin my ankles, and I was all like " pashaw ma, what do you know about skateboarding?! " I dreamed of the day when I could say that I couldn't, by the very virtue of the nature of the act, take care. I loved the idea of declaring so with a reckless abandon. I was swoony with the idea.
I spent every day from age 18 -25 skateboarding the hours down. Whenever someone would tell me to be careful, I would shout back at them " You can't be careful on a skateboard, man! "
