Here, there and everywhere.
I was almost 2 years old. I was bored because we were going somewhere, and my mom got me dressed first and was rushing around, getting herself together- running her bath, laying out her clothes. I was in the bathroom watching the tub fill, and decided to crawl in. I was wearing little white bloomer pants with blue flowers on them, and was enjoying how the bloomers puffed out when I lowered my behind into the water. Then I heard her fussing, and she pulled me out of the tub.

I remember laying beside my twin. That's it, just a fleeting snapshot, more of a feeling than anything else.
I'm told I can't possibly remember her because she died when we were 6 months old. But I do.

Of course you remember her! You spent months in a tiny womb with her, and then had another 6 months together on earth. I have no doubt that you remember her.

(((Lepp))) that's so sad, you know your little baby self remembered and mourned her. And your parents! losing a baby! OMG. The sadness we endure in this life is overwhelming sometimes. Bless you all!

Sounds like little Susan Norton was a handful, especially soaking wet. ;)

It is said that twins have a special psychic connection and though you were so young, that bond has never left.
My earliest memory is getting into my twin sisters bed. We used to sleep spooned up. My mum used to get cross and put us in separate beds and tell us to stop it. But as soon as she went, I crept back in and we slept like that for years. I'm blessed to still have my twin with me. I'm so sorry Lepp.

My first memories in order of earliest:

  • Sitting in my high chair refusing to eat spaghetti & toast (do you have tinned spaghetti in the States?)
  • Holding my newborn brother while my parents took photos :)) (I was about to turn 3)
  • Feeding the ducks & geese at the local lakes with my uncle - he kept saying 'dont put your hand too close or they'll bite", so of course I put my hand too close & got snapped on the hand by a goose. And bawled my eyes out.
My favourite memory is the second :)))
Yes we have canned spaghetti over here (but actually I am not in the States, I am north of the States in Canada). My Scottish husband, who is a chef, will not eat pasta that I make but he will eat canned spaghetti! (go figure).

It was a childhood staple of mine.....that & Batchelors Supernoodles :) I was even having a tinned pasta discussion with someone I work with (very sad indeed I know), & shes the same age as me, so it must be 'grew up in the early 90's' thing
