They didn't happen to mention when that high-tech US Destroyer was going to arrive in the area, did they Giant?
...just watching CBS coverage now...nobody has a freakin' clue at this point...STILL....this is to weird for words...my biggest concern is peace for the lost souls and comfort for those they left so unexpectedly...

...no ETA mentioned...dammit, this is terrible...

Not sure where it was stationed, but they made it sound like this ship could find the proverbial needle in the haystack.

Very strange not to have a distress call from the plane if it was a mechanical issue. Also, if it was a bomb, you would have thought the group responsible would have "taken credit" for it by now.

As far as I know, that possibility is still on the table. Although, you would think, that a plane that big would have few options on where it could land without somebody noticing.
True. If it was smaller, tiny island landing would be more of a possibility. It's just weird. My first thought was Indonesian Muslim fundamentalists (can't think of the name of the faction right now), but it seems like they would have acted by now.

The hijack theory could still be in the mix. Maybe the hijackers have their own airport? Unlikely, but stranger things have happened. And, like you say you, would have thought we would have heard some demands or something by now.

It was the stolen passports that made me wonder. Not so weird that it would be hard to find--the Pacific is BIG--but strange that they had no notice from the pilots. I have a feeling there is more to come in this story
I also find it very strange that the plane didn't appear on any other radars....no communication, nothing....almost like it went through a thinny
