Good read, but I wonder why he didn't read anything after Gerald's Game, until Joyland that is. This article might've been different if the author had read more.

I tried to read the article but had to stop when I got to the point that the author admitted he has basically read nothing.
Yeah, I agree with you all. I thought it was a good read, but to really write anything like this, one should be more well read...or something.
Lots of big words in that article. Wonder if the writer was getting paid by the paragraph? Dolt.

- looks like the author, Eve Tushnet, missed a lot of great books! I stopped reading the article at that point. And yeah, ghost, I agree with your comments above (although it started off at the beginning as a half decent commentary, actually!)
I only got through about 10 paragraphs and then had to quit.

Eve hasn't been very prolific...her last blog was in '09.
thought the basic premise interesting...and have since wondered if King has written characters like that prior...and...some come to mind. Larry in The Stand. Others? uuummmm, maybe Edgar in Duma Key.

She doesn't know King as well as she thinks, if she hasn't read The Tower series.
I felt like she didn't really have a point in her article. Just cluttered thoughts and no real structure. There was nothing of substance in the article at all. If this was a column, it was a pretty bad one.
