Honestly, I haven't read any that I would recommend. Indie horror writers tend to be indie for a reason, from what I've seen: no sense of plot or character, overdeveloped sense of gore.

I can imagine a lot of indie authors overloading the gore and loosing the story telling. Bad Abadan bad.

I'm happy to say that my book has no gore in it at all. I'm going for the psychological approach, which is the kind of thing that scares me.
