He was this dude in Colorado who was pissed off about a cement plant being built next to his muffler shop so he bought a bulldozer and turned it into an armored vehicle. He tore through his hometown levelling every building in sight (luckily no one was killed) but then he got stuck in a basement and cornered by the police and he shot himself in the head. There are videos of his ride of destruction on YouTube, it's actually pretty funny, all except for the fact that he..y'know...killed himself.

Yeah, Granby, on the other side of the Divide. Nice town that didn't deserve to have a lunatic rampaging through it.

It was interesting, no doubt about it, that that guy put together such a mechanical beast of destruction. Looking at it from afar, I can see how it might appear amusing until, like so many things, you drill down and see what a sick, obsessed person he was and the innocent people who lost businesses, dwellings, and vehicles to his mindless rampage. The fact that no one (except him) got killed was no credit to him. He fired at people and was uncaring if the buildings he demolished had people within.

The most darkly humorous part to me was that after all the armor plating and bulletproof lenses on his television spotters, impervious to the bullets and flash-bangs that the authorities were tossing his way, he got himself stuck in a basement. Of a then-destroyed family-owned hardware store that didn't deserve that, either.

It was a colorful day for Colorado, that's for sure.
