Hi, I'm new and have a question.... Just found what seems to be a first edition copy of Delores Claiborne at my local thrift store. There's a price on the dust jacket and from the copy right page, it looks to be a 1st Ed. The only thing that makes me doubt is that the width of the book is only about 6 inches, Stephen King website says it should be 6.25. The height is correct... Just wondering if this sounds correct or did I purchase a book club edition???

Remeasured and it is 5.75 like yours! My C.P. Page has the number line stating its a first edition. I was just wondering b/c the Stephen King websites link for all the info on his first editions stated it should be 6.25 wide. Thanks for checking your copy... Love finding Mr. King's 1st editions in amazing shape at thrift shops for $1.50.

Yeah, DC's width is a bit smaller than the rest of King's hardcovers -- Moderator, any idea why?? (I've always been sort of curious about it, myself.)
Sorry, would be pure speculation on my part. I don't remember why they chose that size and I can't remember (brain cramp) what the name is for the style they used for binding the pages with the sections offset--deckle?
