How long could you wait to finish a book?

I may hold the record on this one...
Over 30 years between the first two-thirds of The Dead Zone and finally finishing it earlier this year; from about 12 years of age to where I am now at 45. Just never got around to tying up this loose end in the early 80s when I first thumbed through it. Long story, one I've covered in greater detail in a few threads here on SKMB.

Wow 30 years, that will be one well traveled book!

The first book belonged to my junior high school library, the one I finished was the hardcover book-club version in my collection. One of the greatest accomplishments I've had with books was finally getting TDZ behind me. Was like getting to say a proper goodbye.
