Hi there! It is currently minus 27 or thereabouts but with the wind chill factored in it is actually minus 39.

They are predicting an extreme wind chill warning of minus 45 for Saturday night. I think once we get down to the minus 40s, Fahrenheit and Celsius are pretty much the same at that point.

Thanks for the link.We live a ways from Franklin
I just Googled it - it is about 26 miles! Wow - I guess it's pretty cold and snowy if he can go down a hill.

BTW a flying saucer is a round plastic thing big enough to sit on (some used to be made of metal in the old days) and kids use them to go sliding down snowy hills.

Mind you, I heard this on the radio (about Johnny Reid) so I cannot confirm if it's true or not.

Plus according to Wikipedia he is supposed to have moved his family to Nashville :umm::umm:

We are about 20 miles or so from Nashville. Depending what part of Nashville. We have been to Franklin on a few occasions. We use to go to george Jones house at Christmas when he did a toy collection for needy kids. But since he stopped doing that a few years back my son donates to our local police department who collects toys for needy children in our town.

Been in the 30s and 40s in this corner of Alaska. Not bad, really, except that it's not enough for the ice to really melt, and sometimes the film of water can make the ice on the road even more treacherous.

See out to the right there? That's a frozen river. Trucks and snowmobiles and ATVs drive right across and on down it.

Weather is annoying. They called for 2" of snow, then freezing rain. Well, 6" of snow later, it rained.
I had to go out. Heavy wet snow on the car. Had to step in the snow with sneakers on to clean it off - stepped thru into 4" of rushing icy water soaking my ankles and feet.

Errgh.
