Didn't think we'd gotten any snow...but wait five. Scraped the driveway again, that and the bit the village snowplow pushed. I guess winter is here to stay. Thought it said 21F...about -5C on the thermometer. Will have to crank up the snow-blower and blow the row of snow into a pile...that will grow to be well over 15 feet high...and when the village sno-go makes a pass, cutting back the snowbanks, the sides look like sedimentary rock...all the layers of black sand/salt sandwiched between the different snowfalls we've had. The new tenants on this rental I'm working on are from Pakistan...or India...newlyweds...by way of California. Installed some T-1-11 siding on the old Bunny Bread garage next to the trailer yesterday...wanted to get inside...where it was warm...and finish that work. But they remained cocooned inside and I can't say I blame them.

Woke up at 4:00 am to the sound of snowplows in our parking lot, and guys shovelling and salting the walkways around the building. It's cold - freezing actually, but we're only expecting flurries today. But winter has officially arrived in my neck of the woods.

Just as I thought..........

Never got above freezing at the house. Roads are a sheet of ice, trees bent over from the weight of ice, power lines have icicles hanging from them. Fortunately the power is still on. Don't know if that will last once the wind starts up as is expected. Oh, and now it is raining to beat the band.

Happy Thanksgiving...........:cold:

Last night, I woke up and thought there're jet fighters flying nearby. Of course it was just the wind blowing in steady but powerful force. One good thing about rain and icy sidewalks though: a good excuse not to go jogging, that's become an obsession to me. Streets seem to be even icier, all you need is to touch the brake pedal and the anti locking system kicks in. Not my favorite season, this late autumn/early winter.

The roads were much better than I first expected. But I'm definitely sick of the rain. I would almost rather have it be snow...
