Will the bananas have peanut butter on them?I believe those are plantains....the gentlemen platter (not pictured) has the bananas on it for the ladies.
So this is a joke? Ok.
Not only have human beings been reduced to something as insignificant as a plate, but we're laughing about it.
Good deal. This is going to let little girls know exactly what they're worth. Little boys will continue to grow up knowing that girls don't matter; they're only plates, after all. And why respect a plate?
I would have thought, with the advent of the feminist movement, this type of industry would have been obliterated by now. But apparently gaining equality and being treated with respect is a lost cause, so why bother?
Mothers will have to teach their daughters that in order to gain the attentions of the almighty man, they'll have to grow up to be call girls, strippers, or porn stars. And if none of that works out, well, our daughters can always be plates and get laughed at.
Isn't this a wonderful world?
Sorry, DarkKrystl, didn't mean to offend you or any of the wonderful ladies here by posting this story and then my inane jokes about it. I apologize.
Perhaps by making fun of it as an utter joke and ridiculing it, it will help to keep our daughters from going into those type of professions.
Also, something I find quite interesting is if we would call it art, it would be accepted as legitimate expression.
I'm convinced that the intent of the OP was never to actually condone disrespect for women. I admit that it didn't occur to me that women might be offended by the post, but I know that lack of mine was not that I disrespect women. I tend to agree with the objection to women doing such things for a living, but I don't think my ideas of how people should behave must be followed just because of what I believe. You're a sweetheart, OoO. Thank you.
I am sorry for raining on your parade. But this sort of thing--the porn industry in general--has always gotten under my skin.
I've been around too many "men" who would mean the jokes I saw on here today. "Men" who truly think that females are simply there to be used and then thrown away.
And I've been on the receiving end of that mentality since I was six. My husband is one of those rare, good men, a real man, and he is helping me heal from the hurt others have caused me. But for every step forward I take, the worse my loathing for this particular topic gets.
Maybe someday I will be able to joke along with you, but for the moment, maybe I ought to learn to stay away from threads like this.
This really is a case of life imitating art as I’ve seen artistic images like this years ago. I won't post the artwork though, but you can google it for yourself. You may have a point. Something I'll have to think about, definitely.
And, uhm, how could that be considered art when we have Maxfield Parrish?
Never mind, I don't wanna know....
But this brings us back to the eternal question of what art is. Even artists don't seem to really know the answer. Personally, I don't think that this lady's occupation is that of artist any more than if she were bursting out of a cake. If it's not art to do these things does that mean people mustn't do them, though? And the decision a lady makes to be a stripper or even a porn star, is that decision necessarily due to childhood trauma or having been mislead as to women's role in society?Perhaps by making fun of it as an utter joke and ridiculing it, it will help to keep our daughters from going into those type of professions.

Art is mixture of perception and interpretation. What one might consider porn, another might consider art. And some might consider bursting out of a cake as a expression of beauty for the female form presented in celebratory manner. The same goes for strippers and porn stars. It is a vast and complex world we live in, and art, or the perception of art, makes it even more so.But this brings us back to the eternal question of what art is. I disagree as to your perception of art, but it doesn't matter what I believe. Everyone has opinions.Art is mixture of perception and interpretation. And here’s something to also ponder. Some complain about this because of the attitudes of men... yet tell a girl she shouldn’t dress provocatively as it could bring on the same illicit thinking from men, and all hell breaks loose.
Not necessarily mine, but every elective I had in college I took in various art classes, and this type of topic and discussion often came up.I disagree as to your perception of art, but it doesn't matter what I believe. Everyone has opinions.
